Three Little Pigs go Surfing

3 men, 4 women, 2 boys, 2 girls

This short play was clipped from the larger play Merlin Meets the Mad Hatter and The Three Little Pigs Go Surfing and focuses on the subplot with the three pigs.

The Big Bad Wolf and his girlfriend The Sleepy Fox have the three pigs trapped inside Clark’s brick house. But Clark is the smart pig; he has enough food in there to last a while and keep his brothers’ safe. The Wolf devises a plan to get the pigs out of the house. It involves making a deal with a shark. When the Wolf disguises himself as a UPS delivery man and delivers a surf board to Clark’s house for his surfer-dude brother Fender, the plot is set in motion. Ace detective Arthur the Bear enlists the help of 11-year-old Artie and a Skunk to help him protect the pigs.

The Golden Duck Production in 2006 used 7 adults (3 men and 4 women) plus 2 boys and 2 girls. It was performed at the Dixie Theatre in Staunton, VA and the Strasburg Theater in Strasburg, VA. The script runs 30-40 minutes.

An all children’s cast version was also produced at the LA Acting Workshop in 1998.

A radio version, The Three Little Pigs Go Surfing on Cheney Lake was broadcast on Kansas Radio Theatre in the winter of 2018.
